worked perfectly in less than ideal conditions

This year I took with me my newly acquired Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO lens which I bought for use on an Olympus E-M1 Mark II body had west in Oklahoma. in the middle of a cold snap on the last weekend of quail season. Temperatures averaged in the single digits to low teens, with much colder winds. I set the camera to CA-F mode with continuous shooting. Very satisfied with ultra-fast shooting and autofocus even in such cold conditions. The shots are very sharp (the first shot with the pack standing up is cropped a bit due to my distance) and I was able to take photos of the dogs in motion as well as great landscape shots. My only complaint, and it's not a major one, is that the lens hood tends to get in the way of your zoom when it's off. However, I rarely, if ever, shoot without the lens hood down. Both for photographic reasons and just to protect the lens. I carry my camera on a side mount with a Peak Designs strap and have been through a lot of plum trees and the like and the lens hood gives a lot of protection for your glass. It's a compact lens and for a mirrorless system it's not like your smaller lenses where you can easily shoot with the display. Of course, due to the weight, it's easier to shoot with the camera to the eye and look through the viewfinder, but it comes naturally to me anyway and I prefer this way of shooting. Very happy with the performance of the lens. no noticeable aberrations for me and excellent clear images.
