fantastic lens. Very sharp! Works great with Panasonic G85!

Very nice lens. Really very sharp. Excellent build quality. I get very sharp pictures with this lens. I use it for volleyball and portraits. Great lens. It gets great reviews from online lens reviewers. I use this with my Panasonic G85. I don't think Panasonic has a lens as good as this in this zoom range.

I like this focal range - it suits my view of the world.

Advantages: 1. excellent image quality; 2. fixed maximum aperture f2.8; 3. I just love this zoom range - for me it's the perfect lens for outdoor and portrait photography. It just fits the way I normally see the world! Disadvantages: 1. Relatively large; 2. Relatively heavy (compared to other micro 4/3 lenses); 3. Of course, that's not enough for wide-angle shots.

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Legacy model

The only thing I don't like is that the weight of the lens is about twice that of the camera. I understand why with all the necessary glass, but Olympus does wonders with their professional lenses in this weight class. I think the 40-150mm zoom is the best place for most 4/3 photos. I hope Olympus releases a new premium camera soon to support the company.

Great zoom. F2.8 Best in Camera & Photo

I have an EM-1 Mark II. I use 4/3 lenses with a converter. And 50-200 F2.8 to 3.5 and 35-100 F2. These lenses worked great with the converter and took crystal clear pictures and the autofocus was fast. I got a good deal on a used 40-150 F2.8 here at Revain. So I figured I'd see if lenses would work better for the camera. While I'm not sure if they perform any better, they are smaller and more compact than the two huge lenses I've used. The ED 40-150 F2.8 lens produces crystal clear images. Iโ€ฆ

The rave reviews are right, best lens I've ever had

This is the sharpest lens I've ever used in the long history of the 35mm, slightly medium format and now digital. It's also one of the easiest to use I've ever had. I also have a 12-40mm counterpart and while I really like it, the 40-150 is in a class by itself. It's heavier than the smaller lenses in the Oly system, so you'll need to use it on the days you're going to be shooting, but it's so much lighter than any comparable alternative that I've found those days to be a lot more common nowโ€ฆ

worked perfectly in less than ideal conditions

This year I took with me my newly acquired Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO lens which I bought for use on an Olympus E-M1 Mark II body had west in Oklahoma. in the middle of a cold snap on the last weekend of quail season. Temperatures averaged in the single digits to low teens, with much colder winds. I set the camera to CA-F mode with continuous shooting. Very satisfied with ultra-fast shooting and autofocus even in such cold conditions. The shots are very sharp (the first shotโ€ฆ

Outstanding image quality, stabilization and depth of field

TL;DR: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO lens - SIGNIFICANTLY better lens than the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4 0.0-5.6 and you should seriously consider investing in this lens if you are an Olympus photographer looking for sharp, crisp images. My experience: I switched from Sony to Olympus in 2014 and have been using Olympus products exclusively for the past six years. years now. So I decided to try this lens. Therefore, this test report contains comparison shots of the two lenses. They were shot on a tripod with the same exposure settings. My original review can be

Wow, wow, wow, from a professional pro!

Let me review my trip to Mount Olympus. I'm an award-winning full-time professional photographer who switched to Olympus after 4 failed Nikon shots in a row. We are all aware of Nikon's quality control issues lately. I've had a lot of Olympus cameras, Fuji cameras, and Sony cameras (I'm a mirrorless guy). I've mainly been shooting Sony lately, but was disappointed with the range and prices of the lenses. Don't get me wrong, Sony lenses are superb and the Zeiss 55mm f1.8 has become a legend forโ€ฆ
