Super quick and easy install

Vehicle: 15' Subaru Legacy This was a very quick and easy install. It doesn't even require instructions, it's that simple. I waited until it was time to change the oil and everything started as usual. I unscrewed the bolt from the oil pan, drained the oil and blah blah blah. After all the oil was drained, I installed a drain valve. He came into play exactly as expected. I covered the valve with a rag and used pliers to tighten the valve to minimize scratching it. Fast and easy! I poured some oil into the car, opened the valve and like magic the oil came out. Opening and closing the valve mid-flow was very clean and easy. Damn, TOO clean and simple. The valve lever must be pushed up and then rotated. This means that if something gets stuck on the lever, the valve cannot easily rotate to the open position while riding. To test this further I gave the valve handle a little tug and it held up pretty well. Great design and great thoughts. Now I can't wait for my next oil change so I can tap it out a little faster, a little easier and a lot cleaner! As usual I will update this review as needed, probably in the next 4-6 months in case anything goes wrong. UPDATE: 3 months after the original install, I finally did my first oil change with a drain valve. I removed the clip holding the release lever in place. Oil pan installed, then valve opened. I had some oil on hand, but a lot less than usual when I change the oil before the drain valve. When the oil ran out, it was a waiting game. The bleed valve is a bit slower than I expected, but the job was a lot cleaner, so I agreed with the extra time. After about 10 minutes I noticed that stubborn oil drips were still there. This annoyed me a little, but when I loosened and removed the drain valve I noticed there wasn't even a jar of oil left. I would totally agree to leaving this oil in the engine as there was very little of it. I returned the lever to the locked position and then fiddled with the lever clamp for about 3 minutes to get it back in place. It was a little annoying, but I got it. From there it was as easy as adding oil, installing a new filter and riding on. Draining took about twice as long as usual, but that's acceptable as the end result is significantly cleaner than removing the plug and trying to dodge the heavy flow of oil. It was well spent. UPDATE 4 (Final): It's been a year and I have no complaints. No leaks, no hassles and oil changes are still a breeze. It still takes a little longer to drain all the oil, but that's the only complaint. This is a great piece of equipment and I no longer have to worry about getting oil on my hands when removing the oil pan bolt. Even changing the oil when the engine is a little warm is not a problem.
