Good quality jar but so-so lids. I have tried many containers of this type over the years and they are not as good as most. Big disappointments: The lids deform when pressed against medium-hot foods and do not return to their original plane. This makes it very difficult to open the lid again; You can usually fix 2 out of 4 staples but not all 4. This happened even with medium spicy foods. Most other similar containers do not have this problem. In addition, their capacity does not correspond to that declared; the sales page says 28 oz. In truth, if you place the containers on a flat, level surface, 24 ounces of liquid will fill them to capacity. These are American fluid ounces, which is roughly equivalent to 25 imperial fluid ounces. In any case, this is far below the declared capacity. I've been expecting incorrect capacity claims for the past few years as none of the kits I've tried lived up to the advertised capacity. I still have some of these 12 year old containers and these containers are holding the advertised capacity. They were made in Italy and some in America. These new ones are made in China. I'm not sure why this would affect the claimed capacity versus actual capacity, but maybe they measure things differently.
