I haven't had any problems with these se disks for 6 months. Normally with hard drives I would expect one to fail within the first month or after more than 5 years to fail. I'm not a data addict either so I use a couple of these 4TB drives in RAID 1 just in case. These drives are not used much in my application. I originally ordered them with the intention of using them on a busy server, but I had a more pressing need for a NAS unit so they ended up selling large files. It's the technical equivalent of driving Miss Daisy in a muscle car. WD Red would be more suitable, but I'm not changing it now. Their power consumption is pretty reasonable - 2 drives in a 2-bay NAS consume less than 25W, and their read/write speeds are exactly as expected.
