I have a 2020 Open Range Light 312BHS towed by a 2020 Chevy 2500HD with a 2020 short crew cab (6ft 9in) to give you an idea the length (quite long, but I wouldn't say crazy). The monitor is mounted on the windshield and the reception sucks. The frame rate is so low that it's hard to tell what's really going on, and the signal often breaks down. narrow in all directions. With the camera mounted close to the roof (maybe 8 inches down) I can't see much of anything. The goal was to see traffic behind me and capture a bit of the back of the trailer so I could see when approaching objects (or in a parking space). I get one or the other, but never both. Wide-angle lenses are cheap and give you a better view of what's going on around you (I thought so). Very disappointed. Well, outside of the return window, so that would only add to the piles of garbage at our landfill. The angle is still not optimal, for which 3 stars. If they upgrade the lens to a wide angle, that would be a good choice.
