The lights are awesome and bright. Several modes and colors. I purchased several boxes for indoors and outdoors. I purchased covers to keep the usb plugs dry outdoors.The description stated that they could be used that way. First rain and none worked outdoors. Some flashed and jittered, but were unresponsive to the remote except the "off button. They eventually started working when they dried, but some single leds were stuck on on one color or another. I had to take them all down and replace them with regular lights.If you're planning on buying them for outdoors, you should probably consider rope lights.For indoors, they do not stay in sync when turned on at the same time. I used two strands on my tree because one wasn't long enough and the different modes do not keep the same timing between strands.I give them a three because they are misrepresented as indoor/outdoor. They're definitely not weatherproof and don't work at all if the strand gets rained on.
