Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Your Vehicle's Performance with Walker Exhaust Quiet-Flow 40245 Muffler Assembly by Flavio Iyer

Good fit, very quiet

a perfect Fit for my 2002 Dakota SXT. The brackets on both are in the right places to match your existing hangers. The truck is very quiet and seems to run smoother now. The muffler arrived with a barely noticeable flat spot at the exit. I didn't notice until I tried to put the exhaust pipe in. I cut about 1" deep slits on all ends of the outer splined connections to allow U-bolt clamps to be used without over tightening the clamp. This keeps the tube from bending and the seal is very tight. Makes the slightly flattened area on the outer Wedge end to a minor inconvenience Make sure you inspect the item if it arrives better than me because if you don't cut the slits or have a tube expander you will be disappointed. This would be a 5 star product if that wouldn't be. Removing the muffler was the hardest part of the job. I thought it was just pinched. But it turned out to be pinched AND welded on. Sweating constantly and rust flaking everywhere. The exhaust pipe was obviously welded on, so I didn't even try to salvage it even though it was in decent shape I think everything went as expected but I'm in still sore 2 days after never working with my exhaust system again. I have a good jack, stand and wheel chocks but this was a really large amount of work which could have been done quickly and painlessly in a garage with a jack lift. Before you go down the DYI path, make sure you understand what you're getting yourself into.
