Review on πŸ•΅οΈ Defender STEALTH1 Covert MPEG4 DVR Recording System: Motion Sensor with Hidden Color Pinhole Surveillance Camera by Kevin Apriando

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good but not fully hidden, can't record in low light, battery is low

Works pretty much as advertised. Pros:* Motion detection works well and can be customized.* Multiple recording modes including continuous and motion detection and for watching videos.* Fairly easy to set up. Cons:* The angle of view of the camera lens (especially in the vertical direction) is not wide enough to cover a large space.* Absolutely terrible low light, not even the motion sensor works. The video is completely dark even though everything is clearly visible to the naked eye.* I tried rechargeable NiMH batteries but they only lasted 2-3 hours which means you are using expensive lithium batteries or about one need to connect adapters. With an adapter, this camera isn't hidden at all unless you have other motion detectors in the house that look the same. Also, the adapter's cord is short, making it difficult to mount it closer to the ceiling (it's much easier to hide the cord than to hide an adapter that ends halfway up the wall). This becomes even clearer on the road. Info: For recordings of the highest quality, you need a larger memory card, with 2 GB you only get around 9 hours. and if you don't have enough light in your area of interest I would not recommend this product. If you really want something stealthy and useful, get a camera with low-light capabilities, tucked away in an ordinary object that doesn't look out of place with a cord, like a lamp or clock.

Pros
  • With motion enabled, device only records when motion is detected
Cons
  • Doubtful
