Works pretty much as advertised. Pros:* Motion detection works well and can be customized.* Multiple recording modes including continuous and motion detection and for watching videos.* Fairly easy to set up. Cons:* The angle of view of the camera lens (especially in the vertical direction) is not wide enough to cover a large space.* Absolutely terrible low light, not even the motion sensor works. The video is completely dark even though everything is clearly visible to the naked eye.* I tried…

Pros
  • With motion enabled, device only records when motion is detected
Cons
  • Doubtful

Basically a junk. . . . For now, but read on.

OOTB This device proved to be exactly what I needed for my application. Setup was easy, although the initial setup via the menu is a bit cumbersome. If your device doesn't have a display, you must first connect it to a video display to continue. The implementation went quickly. The problem arose when we reviewed the first few days' recording and only 7 hours of video was presented. Assuming we did something wrong, let's rest on the second day with new batteries. This time we recorded only 76…

Pros
  • MPEG-4 Compression - Store weeks of high quality video
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Does what it promises, but OLD technology

Whether you are happy with it or not depends on your expectations. I guess if you're from the old-school tech world, that's fine; but for me coming from the modern digital world, I found some aspects unsatisfactory and would like to know about it sooner. Don't let the use of an SD card fool you. At its core, this is old-school technology. The CCD is 640 x 480 resolution, not high resolution, and in low light it shows the characteristic old-school CCD noise artifacts. There's no built-in…

Pros
  • 45 days of recording with SD card included
Cons
  • Not trendy
