I knew that the dedicated USB ports for keyboard and mouse would only support the most basic of devices, and I was ready to connect them to USB peripherals via a hub. I didn't expect that connecting a mouse via KVM would cause it to intermittently freeze, freeze, and then jump across the screen. I have verified that this only happens when the mouse is connected via KVM (either via the mouse's dedicated port or via an additional USB 2.0 port). This makes using a mouse over KVM extremely cumbersome, meaning KVM is pretty much redundant.
