Review on πŸ“ ROFMAPLE Fractions Micrometer Measuring Stainless: Accurate Precision for Your Measurement Needs by John Brouillard

Good Choice: Gauge

This is a robust sensor unit. It's heavy in the hands (6 ounces) and very stiff. It replaces the plastic I bought at half price. Too bad I skipped that and jumped straight to this one as it's much better, more powerful and apparently more accurate for not a lot more money. The plastic digital caliper immediately lost its tension springs; It still worked, but it was wrong. This comes with a simple but serviceable carrying case and two extra LR44 button batteries. Oh, and a set of dipsticks. I don't need them right now, but I think they're nice to have. My application for this caliper only requires an accuracy of about half a millimeter, so that's overkill as it can measure tenths of a millimeter and read hundredths. It's not accurate enough to measure hundredths of a millimeter, and I don't think a handheld device of this design can actually do that. In any case, the kit comes with probes that can be measured with a caliper, and either the probes are incorrectly made, or the caliper is only accurate to tenths of a millimeter. The additional number on the display should simply look stylish. Another improvement over my cheaper caliper is the addition of an adjustment ring that makes fine adjustment of the caliper shoes easier. If you're looking for a cheap digital caliper for serious but non-critical measurements and want to choose between this and the cheaper plastic ones, I recommend investing in this one. it is much nicer.
