Coil spring boosters are not new. Superior Automotive has sold them through OReilly Auto and other dealerships for years, Speedwaymotors, which offers circuit racing, has also sold them. .Some assembly tips: - The diameter of the amplifier is not as important as the distance between the coils (corresponds to H2 on the amplifier) and the actual diameter of the coil shaft (G2 on the amplifier). - You MUST select an amplifier. which has a smaller H2 dimension than the distance between your extended coil spring. It must NOT be close or larger. I originally went an A size for my car because I figured I could force it, even though the 1.85" H2 was close to my 1.75" spring spacing. Not correct. Brutally wrong. There must be free space for feeding the booster to the coil. Even with the B size I have, which has a 1.22" H2, it still requires serious pressure and finger strength to mount the amp. Most springs have less coil spacing towards their ends. So I installed these amps closer to the center. my feathers and then twisted them to the end of the feathers. It glued them in place. Although zip ties were included with my amps, my amps didn't have holes for them and I didn't want or see a need to drill holes in my boosters to use zip ties. - Rubbershox says you can use WD40 for the install. This is debatable as people say WD40 ruins the rubber, I used soapy water. The results are fantastic. As for the increase in rear ride height, it's negligible. There was a 1/2 inch increase right after installation, but it didn't take long to recover to the original height. But under dynamic loading and movement you can see that the speed of my rear springs has noticeably increased. Cornering is noticeably better. Even at low speeds in parking lots, the steering is noticeably tighter. At higher speeds there is simply less body roll and thus less steering is required. I'm lucky enough that I don't feel the need to buy amps for the front end. I have a Pro for the rear (black) and was wanting to get the Standard (red) for the front but so far I'm happy with it. I recommend strengthening the rear before the front on most cars. Boosting only the front end contributes to understeer. In longer vehicles such as vans and minivans in particular, strengthening the rear over the front affects oversteer and increased steering. With longer bodies there is a lot of twisting and the stiffness of the rear helps counteract that. This is by far the best mod for a car like my van. It has no disadvantageous rigidity. Speed bumps sound clumsier and louder, but it's a compromise I'm perfectly happy with. My only concern at the moment is durability, that remains to be seen.
