Review on πŸ“” Leda Art Supply Perfect Premium A5 Sketch Book: Ideal for Professional Ink, Pen, Graphite & Colored Pencil Drawing - 160 Tear Resistant Pages by Denise Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The laptop is ok but after use the rubber strap came loose.

Notebook is fine but the elastic has come loose after a few uses. It looks like they used some kind of cheap glue to secure the ends in the holes. Edit: Leda was kind enough to send me a replacement pad. I tested the strap on the new one and it seems durable and comfortable so I'm changing my rating from 3 to 5* because it's a good notebook to carry around for sketching and designing. The paper works well with Micron pens, fountain pens, and graphite pencils (paper has a smooth texture so most graphite tips may require more prongs in the paper to get darker shades if you're not on the dark side of graphite). Kingdom then try this notepad) etc. I've also used some Tombow brush heads and am happy with the results. I haven't had any bleeds on the underlying pages, but I doubt the paper can hold up to a lot of overloaded felt tip marks and heavy washing. Edit 2: I'm attaching some scanned field work and sketches of my medium sized Leda. I used 2b/4b graphite in these quick sketches and I love how the graphite works with this paper. I usually use markers and markers/pens to draw on the outside because I (in general) don't like the surface tones of mid-range (B->3B) graphite leads. However, the slightly toned and smooth surface of the Leda paper makes it more comfortable. Use my graphite pencils. I hope my pages give you an idea of how he handles graphite.

Pros
  • PREMIUM: 160 pages of smooth cream paper to make your colors stand out
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
