Six and a quarter inches!
This ring is very well made. It's durable and easily adjustable. My only complaint is that the smallest size is 6 1/4" instead of 6". otherwise you won't get 2 layers of cake! I ended up removing one of the metal tabs that you move to adjust the size of the ring. I used a flat head screwdriver to pry it off and because this ring is so good - done, no dents or scratches! I am very happy with my purchase
