Review on 2008-2020 Nissan/Infiniti K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: High Performance, Horsepower Boost: Designed for 370Z, G37 3.7L V6, 69-7078TS Compatible by Troy Gerhardt

I really wanted to give that 5 stars but it wasn't as easy as my projects with K&N items in the past. I'm not talking about Jane's simple filters either. I have a 4 door G37 but the engine bay is pretty much the same on all Gs. A few tips: Check that the MAF sensor port on your new pipes is clean and well machined. Mine got cut off and I had to put them down (see photo). I would have a tap and die kit handy (and know how to use it) as the powdercoating came on the threads for mine and made vinyl/CPVC/ABs? The elbows you screw up have catching problems. Cross threads are easy to make and metal always beats plastic, so use them carefully. Keep in mind where the engine cover will be. On the sedan you will need to modify the driver's side engine cover to accommodate the included heat shield. Very tight clearance on the passenger side. I would also like to have my own hose clamps ready to use. 1" would be perfect. My kit was missing 2 and the ones they send are good for the elbow in their kit but not good for attaching vacuum lines to your OEM gear (diameter too small). Pay attention to the picture, to know what angle the brackets are at and 90 degree angles should be there.This makes installation a lot easier.The mounting brackets that attach to the heat shields are parallel but you want the screws be loosened until they are properly seated and then syncronize. The elbow is a particularly odd configuration for a sedan and you will have to get creative with how they attach. No Teflon by the way! Don't do that! I saw an idiotic video online, in which a rag/towel was run through pipes to remove metal flakes, paint, dust, etc. prior to final installation.This does not need to get into your engine.Mine was full of metal shavings and debris a.knew before installation. Now it's going to be easy for the next Infiniti. I now have py with sound and mental performance boost haha. Clean looking kit. Polished chrome would be better BUT I think California has a problem with that.
