
I have both inch and metric versions of this tool. The imperial version is good, but the metric version has a serious flaw. The ruler of the *metric* version is not 150 mm long, as is usual with small metric squares, but 6 inches (152.4 mm). Since the zeros of the upper and lower scales are to the right and left of the ruler, the two scales do not match (see figures). This makes using this square very confusing and prone to error - if you ever look at the wrong side of the scale you will be off by 2.4mm.
