Before you connect the wireless adapter you need to configure your new Tivo over Ethernet. I connected the Mini to my modem with a short cable and connected it to the monitor via HDMI. Set up the Mini, update the software (happens automatically) and then get it working with my existing DVR (Tivo Vox) while still using the ethernet cable. I then plugged in the wireless USB adapter and the box automatically recognized this and displayed on-screen instructions. Follow the instructions and the wireless adapter worked. You will also need to go to the setup menu in Tivo Vox, under "Remote" and "Enable" "Network Remote Control" VOX. If you don't allow the Mini to control the DVR (Vox). hope this helps me
