Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Revive Your Tiles with the Grout Pen Black Tile Paint Marker: Waterproof Grout Colorant and Sealer Pen - Black, 5mm Narrow Tip (7mL) by Dion Jeep

Pretty Good - Adhesives and Sealants

I used this stain to cover up a dark blue grout after we renovated our bathroom and the grout color was supposed to be black. I am overall happy with the color quality and ease of use of this product and would recommend it. The downside is that the pen only holds 7ml of dye, which isn't very far. Also, the pen tip (nib) tends to wear out when used on coarse grout. I found that the tip was fried about the time the stain on the handle leaked. I don't know if this is a clever design or just luck. I tried not to press too hard when using the nib to prolong the life of the pen tip. It's also a bit messy to use, if you're repainting a tile you have to pick it up right away. The instructions say to use a damp cloth but that just smeared the stain all over. I used my finger and a dry towel, which seemed to work best. I think this smudge deserves a 5 star rating if the body of the pen were larger and/or contained more smudge. Yes, give the buyer a pen with a volume of at least 10ml, do not be stingy! Even if it were 10ml, that would increase the pen's range by 30 percent and cost the manufacturer next to nothing. I used three pins to cover about 70 square feet (about $30 with taxes). I've seen bulk 8oz mortar patches sold at Revain for as little as $30 (although some of them weren't very cheap). By the way, for those of you who don't use the metric system: 7 ml is just under a quarter ounce (0.24 oz).
