Review on πŸ”Œ Mediabridge Ethernet Cable (100 Feet): Cat6/Cat5e/Cat5, 550MHz, 10Gbps - Part# 31-399-100X by Mike Carter

WiFi sucks. cable rules.

An affordable way to triple your internet connection. Devices running Android 6.0 (Kodi Box) inexplicably lost Wi-Fi connectivity when Time Warner switched to Spectrum. WiFi speed dropped from 90% to 30%. Just a coincidence? I can not say. It happened at my house and at my sister's house. However, wired is always better than WiFi. If you've got room to crawl, this 100-foot cable lets you run an invisible cable from your modem to almost anywhere in your average home. I live in an RV with insulation on the floor. To route the cable, I drilled a 3/4" hole in the ground in an inconspicuous corner. Then I pushed half of the regular cornice through the hole until it was visible from ground level. I then stuck that in end of the ethernet cable into the slot on the bar and taped it in place. He pulled back the bar and got access to the cable. Plugged a cable into a gigabit ethernet switch and made a wired connection to distant parts of the house. Even after At 100 feet I had no noticeable loss in signal strength.

Pros
  • CAT6/CAT5e: Supports both Cat6 and Cat5e applications. The RJ45 connector used for this cable is ideal for Cat6 and Cat5e ports.
Cons
  • Legacy
