Matches my Stereo Glass Shelves

I received several glass shelves, two approximately 30" high and 20" wide, to hold a home theater turntable and amplifier in front of the TV and other equipment. I wanted some low speaker shelves to bring the surround sound to ear level, which would suit the sound. It goes without saying that the Monoprice speaker stands are made by the same company. As with shelves, the metal pieces fit together easily and don't always connect smoothly. I found that to align the shelves you have to bend the panels (which look like flimsy masonite) to fit the slotted plastic sleeve that holds the whole assembly together. It's a little finicky, but you can swap out the pieces and try to put them together by rotating the pieces 180 degrees, eventually everything fits together as it should. It's not overly difficult, just a little finicky due to the lack of precision in production. I couldn't screw one of the metal legs all the way in without pinching it with pliers, no matter how I did it the thing wanted to cross the threads. I had a similar experience with shelves when assembling them. I guess I'll probably never parse any of this stuff again, so no big deal. When all of this is put together they make a nice addition to the setup and look pretty crisp. One of the stands is a little wobbly from not being able to put my foot all the way on it, but they're only small Fluance speakers and the cats have given them a bit of a beating and nothing has fallen on the hardwood floors yet. If you have a rug, you might not mind that the legs are not on the same level. Considering that it's hard to find a decently sized speaker stand at this price point, I'd say I can live with the cons. However, black glass shows dust easily. So if you're not up to running a tricky home, you might find something brown or wood that dust isn't easily visible on. Otherwise I like them and they are just the right size for my Fluance SX6 speakers which fit perfectly square on top as if the stands were made specifically for speakers of that size.

Pros
  • MDF wood veneer for a sleek design and a loop to attach the speaker to the stand for added security in the event of a crash.
Cons
