I live in an old RV and am trying to hang simple items like small decorative shelves and cornices on the walls but to no avail. Installing all fasteners, all types of locks, anchors, etc., resulted in the screws working away from the wall a little and eventually coming out all the way. They not only came out, but left gaps around the mounting piece that looked awful. The instructions say you can't use a hammer for this, but neither my husband nor I could push in, so I tapped the tool gently and it was quick with no damage. The hollow door switch closed the mess/hole caused by the standard switch (which fell into the wall) and the screw is completely tight and secure in the wall and is now supporting my eaves. I buy more of these for my decorative shelving and clean up the look of the wall that all my other curtain rods hang on. They are great for the thin walls of an RV! Update 1/18/21: For paintings and lighter hanging items this is fantastic. Since then, one of my three shelves has fallen off the wall and another is in danger of falling. To ensure the safety of floating shelves, additional reinforcement, such as B. a ship's wall required.
