Looking at others’ comments I did not see excessive ‘debris’ coming out of the filter when first installed and flushed. I flushed for the few minutes recommended and at the end the water was crystal clear. Taste is great and would buy again. The only issue was that there was excessive noise when the water was running for about 3 weeks - and then the noise went away. I recall the noise with brand name filters but did not last as long. Probably use abt 1-2 gallons of water a day and after 1 month the filter is still working great. If you are looking for a less expensive option I would highly recommend.
