Getting this product right is almost impossible. The product has an adhesive backing that absorbs dirt and oil. I washed my hands thoroughly and wiped the screen with the lint free cloth that came with it, the lint and dirt got stuck in the adhesive making it impossible to do without air bubbles. I ended up throwing Zagg's shield in the trash. I ended up going to Walmart and bought a universal screen protector with a built in grid to crop the screen to size. A universal "static cling" screen protector costs about $6 for 4 screen protectors. Applies flawlessly to the screen with no dirt or oil issues. If you don't line it up the first time, just peel it off and try again. NO glue to worry about.
