Not true 4000 lumens

I bought this projector hoping that 4000 lumens means 4000 lumens. After seeing the reviews on YouTube and Amazon I had high hopes. Those hopes were quickly dashed after I received and installed this projector. This 4000 lumen projector is MUCH dimmer than my 8 year old BenQ 2700 lumen projector. After a bit of research I've found that if it's not ANSI lumens you have no guarantee of brightness as each manufacturer has a different definition of brightness in lumens. Therefore, 4000 lumens from a Chinese manufacturer can actually only be 250 ANSI lumens. So you need to know what you are going to use this projector for. When using this projector in a dark room the picture is quite bright and the resolution is good, native 720p. However, I use my projector in a semi-dark room and it really makes a difference. The image on the screen is not so clear and difficult to see. I know I've asked a lot for a budget projector. However, I was hoping that 4000 lumens would mean what it says. It's not like this. This projector was returned to Amazon and I will continue to use my BenQ projector until the bulb burns out. Then I'll look around for another projector.
