Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Performance FRAM CA10464 Air Filter for BMW Models by David Pullen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This fram filter is better than the original filter that came with BMW

Perfect for 2006 325i. Manufactured in Mexico by Honeywell. Has a wire mesh on the suction side of the MAS that was not removed in the original BMW, the old one was made in Austria. There are no written instructions on the box, just 3 cartoons. The box says the filter is good for 12,000 miles. No need to remove the MAF sensor or remove the entire filter box, 1. Loosen the round metal clamp with a long screwdriver, after loosening, push it back (toward the windshield) onto the rubber air hose.2. Remove the 2 large screws on the right hand side that attach the box to the driver's side fender.3. Unscrew the tube of the box that goes into the suction tube, there isn't much room for that, but it will come out if you move the tube towards the windshield a little with the clip.4. With the sensor attached, use the same screwdriver to carefully remove the intake pipe from the intake manifold leading to the front of the car.5. Don't worry about the box hanging with the sensor as it is long enough and not much space for the box to fall off. There will be no tension on the wire.6. Hold the box, twist it, loosen all the screws, the box will start to open by itself.7. The side with the filter will come off, the side with the MAS sensor will stay connected, it has another filter that contains carbon and the filter cannot be removed. Remove the old orange filter, insert the new one and simply screw the filter back on by turning the box.8. First insert the metal clip into the rubber tube and then insert the other end into the front intake tube, slight bending is required as there is a hole at the bottom of the airbox that sits on the rubber stud. Tighten the metal clip.9. Once installed, simply replace the 2 large screws. Ready! Only works with 2006 US 325i.
