Fake? don't worry

Most likely this product is fake as others have said but for the price and quality it suits me. Switched to a 2006 BMW 325i with no problems.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I doubt it

Made in China - spare parts

In my photo you can see my old frame made in Austria and the new one made in China. The new one was much lighter than the old one. The same materials can be different. The rest is quite suitable.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Don't know

Oh, back when all you had to do was loosen a wing nut. The filter is great and fits perfectly. However, BMW decided that 11 fasteners were required to close and secure the filter housing. Still a do-it-yourself job, but not entirely easy.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Spare parts

Fram has been around long enough to offer a decent product at a fair price. Remember that this is regular maintenance and has a lifespan, so never attempt to run the paper element longer than the expected interval. It fits, works well, and then you buy another one. You might even want to sign up for regular deliveries so you don't forget anything. . . and if you do, it will show up when you need it. A great idea.

Pros
  • The instructions and illustrations on the packaging provide clear installation instructions
Cons
  • Not everything fits

NOT ORANGE FRAM filter you expect

Installed on a 2006 BMW 325i. As mentioned, the filter I received was a black, brittle, rubbery filter rather than the orange, harder filter that most of us have seen in the past. Glue a strip in the middle and where the rubber has seeped out of the mold. I'm just not sure if it's actually a FRAM filter. If so, there is a quality problem (made in China, by the way). Not sure what "Extra Guard" is as the filter is not shielded as shown on the packaging. Other FRAM Extra Guard filters have this…

Pros
  • Follow recommended change intervals in your vehicle's owner's manual
Cons
  • Functionality

2008 BMW 328xi Coupe Engine Air Filter

I purchased and installed a Fram CA10464 Extra Guard Air Filter for my 2008 BMW 328xi Coupe. Fits just as well as the stock filter. My car still had the original air filter and had about 20,000 miles on it and was out of warranty (six years). The filter was very dirty, as the dealer even bothered to replace it once in the first four years of free use. I'm glad I replaced it. There is a video online with instructions on how to replace it. All you have to do is unplug the mass air flow sensor…

Pros
  • Provides dual engine protection
Cons
  • Contact Seller

This fram filter is better than the original filter that came with BMW

Perfect for 2006 325i. Manufactured in Mexico by Honeywell. Has a wire mesh on the suction side of the MAS that was not removed in the original BMW, the old one was made in Austria. There are no written instructions on the box, just 3 cartoons. The box says the filter is good for 12,000 miles. No need to remove the MAF sensor or remove the entire filter box, 1. Loosen the round metal clamp with a long screwdriver, after loosening, push it back (toward the windshield) onto the rubber air hose.2.

Pros
  • . 12,000 mile change intervals prevent loss of acceleration and power and improve overall performance.
Cons
  • Defects
