For Vintage American in You

Like all real Zippo's, this lamp will shine in almost any wind or weather. There are hundreds or more different Zippo designs to choose from. Why buy this lighter? I love this lighter because it is both elegant and unfussy, which is hard to come by. Although the differences are subtle, the rounder top and sharper side corners give this lighter a sort of vintage appeal that's accentuated by the metal. While the sides are brushed as you can see in the picture, the top is a bit glossy. I personally like the contrast. Every time I use this lighter I have the feeling that it could be the same lighter used by soldiers in a small French village during WWII. The classic click of the mechanism looks more authentic in this case. There is another popular vintage Zippo that is modeled after the 1930s model. This model is a little more "sleek" than this one, with a shinier finish and small stripes on the corners that give it a more upscale look. Some people may prefer this look. I prefer this model, which is more subtle vintage and doesn't try too hard. To me, the difference is that a 1930's model looks like it belongs in a mid-century New York skyscraper, while this model was made for the blue-collar worker of the era. Today, they both look classy, but this one has a slightly more populist design that I personally prefer. As such, it combines American utilitarianism with vintage lines. If you love American classics, this lighter is for you.
