Review on Copper Test Kit: Accurate 90-Test Aquarium Water Testing with API by James Grindberg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An excellent test for checking cupramine

First Verification: After following the directions very carefully, I was unable to get any copper readings after adding Cupramine to my 10 gallon saltwater quarantine tank. However, after leaving the test tube for a day, I was able to get copper readings. Read the full review and results below: EDIT: After letting the vial sit for a full day I can actually make out the copper levels which seem almost accurate with the amount of cupramine I dosed. I tested ANOTHER sample of the same water and immediately got a copper color? Both tests look the same and actually give correct readings of around 0.5 mg/L. I'm not sure the readings can be trusted, although they would be accurate with the cupramine dosage I was administering. Tomorrow I will test it with Seachem test kit and update this review. Also make sure to follow the instructions carefully, you need to remove the cap and look at the tube with a white color background underneath the tube, but don't let the tube sit directly on the card as the color will appear much darker. Hold the vial an inch or two above the card. EDIT #2 02/19/18: Seachem Copper Test Kit arrived, results: 0.5 mg/l. Exactly the amount I dosed. Tested again today with the Copper Test API Suite. Again, the results are exactly the same. 0.5mg/l. This means that (in my case) both the API copper test kit and the Seachem test kit are accurate gauges when dosing cupramine.
