    Bought for an aquarium with shrimp, they seem to fit.

    I bought this to test for copper as I am considering buying Blue Dream Shrimp. Like many other reviewers, I'm not sure this can be tested for trace amounts as it always came out clear. However, the snails I put in the aquarium are fine, so this seems pretty accurate. Pricey considering I only had to test it a couple of times, but worth having.

    Good but a bit hard to read

    So if you're buying this to test your tap water for safety standards it works pretty well but it's a color test and it's hard to tell and very subjective what reading is. So you're really just guessing and are accurate to within 1.0ppm. The thing is, there are digital testers on the market that will give you 0-5ppm with an accuracy of 0.01ppm for as little as $50. However, it's good for the price.

    Great product, bad packaging.

    The copper tester was delivered on time and was exactly the product pictured. Unfortunately, the entire test (including test solution, instructions, and vial) was sent in a flat-rate envelope. Because of this, the test was crushed during transportation and the glass vial broke. I have another test tube at home from the same manufacturer, but whoever doesn't have it would fail the test. The test itself is the best copper test you can get.

    Is the test kit sensitive enough for 0.3 ppm?

    I used this to control the copper concentration in the pool. My target concentration is 0.3 ppm or less. I tested my water samples at Leslie's pool supply store and they showed 0.3ppm copper in my water sample. But my API kit test didn't give me enough color changes. The color I got was closer to 0ppm than 0.25ppm. Actually I don't know which measurement between Leslies kit or API is more reliable. But what I can say is that a color change of about 0.25ppm is not sensitive enough for this test…

    API Copper Test in Fish and Aquatic Animals

    Added to my order to get free shipping. I have most of the other API test kits so thought I'd get this to check the copper values for the invert and help with the build. As simple as most other API tests, but there's a problem: it's hard to read at lower levels.     An excellent test for checking cupramine

    First Verification: After following the directions very carefully, I was unable to get any copper readings after adding Cupramine to my 10 gallon saltwater quarantine tank. However, after leaving the test tube for a day, I was able to get copper readings.     Experienced Reef Warden, DO NOT USE THESE TESTS!

    DO NOT BUY! There are many other better options. My rating is the big picture but my results are for a large 180 gallon reef tank with over 12 fish and lots of coral. I will pass all API tests I used. Terrible test suites. If you keep a goldfish or a dainty five dollar fish that you don't care about, you can probably do without them as they can tell you when there's a problem, such as when there's a problem. B.
