The good news is that these are very durable lamps. The cord is strong and the bulbs seem to be holding up. I have purchased 8 of the 48" kits and have installed 4 of them so far. A remote control controls all four sets simultaneously. The choice of colors is great and the features cover everything I want in a set. The bad news is that when you use any of the programmed features, you don't have a choice of colors. That means you can't use any of the features if you want a specific color, e.g. B. Orange for Halloween or green for St. Patrick's Day. Function keys take precedence over any color selection. So if you want to blink orange, you can't. If you select Blink, the row will blink all colors in sequence. For example, you'll get pink, then purple, then orange, then red, then blue, etc. Obviously this isn't useful for Halloween if all you wanted was orange. The only option you have is to choose Orange but not use any of the features. Also, you can't select multiple colors, which I think would be cool to display my team colors on game days. No, you cannot select more than one color. So, to sum up my dislikes, you can only select ONE color and you CANNOT select any color(s) when using the function keys as all colors are used. For any special cases where you want to display specific colors, you can only do this if you only need one color and don't want any functionality to work. I don't see a case where you would want ALL the colors to be displayed, except maybe Christmas, so the colors in this set strike me as useless and you could just buy a cheaper set that only displays white. 5 stars for the durability of the set. I gave 0 stars for the color/features of the set (which is why I bought it). On this basis I give 2.
