After reading the reviews I honestly didn't know what to expect other than great towing. I've heard everything from "the truck drives like crap but it tows great" to "I don't even know they're there and it tows great". So I pulled the trigger and installed them on my 2013 Tundra. . Installation was pretty easy. The only thing that went wrong was that the kit included a top mount screw that was too big. Luckily I had a similar screw in my garage that worked great. Installation was pretty easy if you have average experience with tools and mechanical concepts. I simply used my jack that came with the truck to raise the hitch on level ground with the parking brake on and the front wheels locked (maybe not the safest method but it worked great). wheels are off. All of this makes trimming factory fenders more affordable, but it can be done just as effectively with truck wheels. I also recommend measuring and cutting U-bolts prior to installation. Nylon nuts should ALWAYS be fully tightened if not done. When doing this, make sure to smooth out the edges and ensure they are properly plugged in before installing. I decided to route the air valves through the top two license plate holes and use them as screws to hold the license plate in place to make it look flush rather than drilling two additional holes in my bumper. To do this, you just need to slightly expand the holes with a stepped nozzle or carefully with an ordinary drill. Also, I would recommend running the wires from the bumper to the airbag first so you can better measure the length and cut what you need. I didn't and ended up with a ton of extra rope to tie under the truck. Once that was done I went back and tightened all the bolts to spec, lowered the truck and went to inflate the bags and check for leaks. She. I filled it up to 20psi, checked for leaks by spraying water on the air valve and took it for a test ride. I've ridden some of the roughest roads I could find around me and to be honest I didn't notice much of a difference. It felt a bit stiffer, but at the same time I'm 25 and don't complain too much about bumpy rides. But it doesn't drive like a 3/4 or 1 ton 2500 or 3500. I can understand the slight stiffness that some people complain about, but it doesn't bother me at all. I also have a 2.5" front leveling kit (no rear lift for bags). I spoke to another guy on here who told me he used the same leveling kit and his truck went off level. That may or may not be true, but it's too close to tell. I think my tool kit can create the optical illusion that the truck is perfectly level. I felt my front end was a bit larger before installing the bags, but now I feel like it's perfect. I'll be towing my 20ft toy tractor this weekend and monitoring performance. 4 stars so far due to wrong screw size and damaged packaging UPDATE: Towed my 20ft toy tractor last weekend. Vented bags up to 25psi (trailer weighs 7000 fully loaded) and it tows like a dream. As for the suspension, I couldn't even tell I was towing a trailer. The only thing that reminded me that I was lugging was the sound of the engine and engine RPM. Itching and Bags I have virtually no hangover sway. The only problem I have is that the washers on the screws go through the holes. The nuts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications, but the washers feel very cheap and pliable. I'm going to replace them with some larger 8th grades and that should fix the problem. Otherwise no questions or complaints.
