We use a TDS meter all the time, it's reliable, accurate and painless to use. The supplied PH meter, on the other hand, calculated itself within a few seconds the first time it was used. , and after about a week it is impossible to even calibrate. So, 5 stars for the great TDS meter, but you can get it individually cheaper. PH meter, zero stars. As I said, it was already drifting during the initial calibration. We never got a successful true PH reading from it, and a week later it shows all calibrations as 6.86 (even for 4.00 and 9.18 liquids). Made the mistake of trusting this gauge early (assuming the "drift" wasn't TOO abnormal) and the plants nearly died. PH meters need to be stored properly and cannot last forever. I probably received a defective unit as others don't seem to have the problems I had.
