The TDS meter does not match the supplied instructions.

Are these tools useful for basic applications? Yes. The included TDS meter measures conductivity in parts per million and is not suitable for measuring the concentration of specific compounds unless you only add them to the solution. The supplied manual is for a different and more expensive TDS meter. This makes it unusable. The screen has a temperature reading in Fahrenheit, but the TDS does not have this feature. Therefore you will need an additional thermometer to correct the ppm/pH from 2…

TDS is amazing, PH not so good

We use a TDS meter all the time, it's reliable, accurate and painless to use. The supplied PH meter, on the other hand, calculated itself within a few seconds the first time it was used. , and after about a week it is impossible to even calibrate. So, 5 stars for the great TDS meter, but you can get it individually cheaper. PH meter, zero stars. As I said, it was already drifting during the initial calibration. We never got a successful true PH reading from it, and a week later it shows all…

The pH meter is fine and seems to be holding a decent true reading after calibration. One thing that frustrates me is that your calibration scale is different than most others. 4.0ph 6.86ph 9.18ph use in ph buffer bags where the most liquid calibration solution is 4.0ph 7.0ph 10.0ph which absolutely corners you The only way is this to buy a pH buffer solution in a bag that also requires deionized water, which will set you back 24.99 gallons. This method is not nearly as fast and accurate as…

Works well and is a real must if you are growing orchids.

I've focused on fertilizers but have come to the conclusion that the quality of the water you start with is just as important, if not more so. Orchids require very few nutrients, but they use large amounts of water, so understanding your water is of the utmost importance. I've found these two tools to work well even though I've only had them recently. I've learned a lot and changed a lot. For example, my water has a pH of 7.1. The ideal range is between 5.5 and 6.5. A higher or more alkaline pH

pH meter is fine and seems to be holding decent after calibration One thing that bothers me is that your calibration scale is different from the most other 4.0ph devices 6.86ph 9.18ph is what you use in ph buffer solution packs where most liquid calibration solutions 4.0ph 7.0ph 10.0ph are what you use absolutely corners and the only option is to buy a buffer p solution with a pack that also needs deionized water which will cost you 24.99 gallons, this method is not nearly as fast and accurate…

First a TDS hardness meter (shows PPM). This device only measures conductivity which is NOT a measure of water hardness or a measure of unknown ions. This can ONLY be useful if you ALREADY know all the ions (sodium, calcium, magnesium, etc.) in the sample to be measured. The PPM number displayed is simply the conductivity times a constant that assumes the sample contains only calcium chloride ions. your hard water! This error is because the TDS meter reads sodium (soft) ions in soft water, but…
