I'm a professional carpenter and ran about 200 feet of this set on a Euro crate. It worked very well. Passed easily at a lower temperature than recommended. I just use an old iron and my digital laser thermometer to set it to around 375 F. It only sticks out 3/4 of the melamine by less than 1mm on each side which actually makes it easier to cut. Be sure to sand the edges with sandpaper when you're done trimming with a razor blade so there's nothing to fix later. After trimming, bevel the edge slightly. How long you have to iron it to activate the glue is kind of a feel, although if in doubt you can see the glue thinning at the 1mm edge.
