Replacing a 20 year old knob and switch was easy. The button and switch are slightly smaller than the original, but the fit of the button connections is the same. Hopefully it will hold up as well as the original pen. I don't know why some people had problems with electrical connections. You'll need to replace the screw on the ports with the included clips, but this shouldn't be a problem for most. The wiring diagram clearly shows the correct wire connection. The new grip only comes with four new screws for the grip and one for the switch. Machine thread screws must be retained to connect the handle to the motor. Since the power cord hole on the back of the handle is much smaller, the cord holder cannot be used. Also, the inside of the handle is slightly different so the clip to hold the line in the handle cannot be used. I wasn't very happy with this, but after everything is assembled the cord comes out taut from the handle. This was the best replacement I could find and by far the best price and delivery.
