Beautiful black finish. Durable for purpose. Welding is fine. Note that the recommended depth is based on a maximum door width of 1 5/8 inches. I had a 2" door that required me to flush the back to install it (see last picture). In addition, the installation is very simple; Using the plate as a template, drill holes, Allen key included.
