Review on MEIAN Embroidery Beginners Stamped Starter by Carol Miller

I have very mixed feelings about this kit. I'll start with the cons and then move on to the pros. First, you have a lot more thread than is absolutely necessary; The reference guide does not give the numeral the most accurate representation of the color and is out of sync with the printed design as the reference drawn in the frame pattern was missing a stone. Finally, the hoop itself is quite large so you will need to spend a lot of time (and very large hands or an embroidery base) to complete this part as there are many layers to do and all this coordination on which part of the embroidery is done first is unclear in the useless instructions on the back (which is really just a poorly detailed 1-stitch step-by-step photo with no link to the video tutorial for visual learners). Despite all that, it was a lot of fun building this kit. This challenges the intermediate sewers and makes great use of their time as they take their time to finish all the (mostly) simple stitches. Speaking of which, there are 8 you need to know about, and they're all pretty easy to navigate once you get the hang of them. Another positive thing to say about it is that it has an accurate representation of fat cats and that is very important. My final criticism is that this is not a beginner's item, do not buy this for someone who has never embroidered before as unfortunately it is not for everyone due to the lack of instructions and video tutorials.
