Review on πŸ” Enhanced Filtering with FilerBuy 20X20X1 Pleated Filters by Scott Morris

Dust won't stop

I bought branded filters for our Carrier Weathermaker oven at major stores and hardware stores. I usually buy mid-range filters (which are comparable to this on paper) or the next-higher-ranked filter. Their performance was good, but prices went up. Like many things before, I switched to Revain to save some money. After looking at the good reviews I decided the Silver Grade FilterBuy filter would suit my needs and bought a pack of 4 16x25x1 filters. Pros: The filters arrived quickly and undamaged. They looked like other quality filters I'm used to. While all the other filters I have purchased for this oven have been slightly larger than a slot and difficult to install and remove, this one is slightly undersized all around and slides in easily. I got off to a good start. The Bad: A few weeks after installing the first filter in the fall, I noticed that after dusting, dust began to build up on our flat surfaces faster than usual. At first I didn't attach much importance to this, but within three months I began to suspect that the new filter was not doing its job. My suspicion was confirmed when I pulled out the filter to replace it. Having lived in my house for 25 years, I know what to expect in terms of dirt on the filter when I change it in late December. This filter wasn't nearly as dirty, meaning it couldn't capture the dust effectively. Looking into the light where my previous dirty filters only showed faint light signs, not only did I see a lot of light, I saw the light itself through small holes throughout the filter. Unfortunately, the experience with the second filter that I changed at the end of March was no better. While I'm sure results will vary by furnace, duct, environment, etc., the FilterBuy Silver filter didn't work as well in my case as the other more expensive mid-range branded filters I've used. If their high-end filter is cheaper than other mid-range options, I might give it a try.
