Dangerous. Poorly Packed. Magnets Came Stuck Together. No Pinch Warning For Kids.

This box (not the shipping box, but the product box itself) looked like one that someone had carelessly opened, as one does to a product they expect to keep. Then it was returned. Then it was sent directly to me without inspection for quality, with all the magnets stuck to each other on arrival. Most of them were stuck only at the edges, giving a weak enough hold that I could pull them apart. But these 8 magnets are now essentially 6, as there are two pairs that I just can't separate. It was really painful when my finger came between two of them (after separating one pair, one fell into another at one edge with my finger between where the other edges wanted to align). I couldn't pull them apart with only a finger width between them at one edge. All I could do was try to slide my finger out from between them, which made them draw closer together, which in turn made the pull stronger. It pinched so hard that I expected to see blood, or at least a blood blister. I'm glad I'm a grown man with tough hands and could take it. I've seen much less cause great damage to those who are young or elderly. I knew the risk and went for it anyway. I accepted that this was a danger inherent to the product itself. A young kid doing a science/construction project wouldn't necessarily have any way of knowing the danger. There was no information included warning of the danger. Just a blank, white, ripped-and-retaped box full of magnets that were stuck together, and some discs of double-sided tape--nothing warning about the force of these magnets. The magnets themselves are five-star products, easily. The seller was careless.

Pros
  • New Design Round Magnets
Cons
  • The adhesive may not be strong enough for heavy duty projects
