I got this for my cats. They have a lot of fur and get mats all the time. We used to use scissors before but that was hard because I felt like I would cut their skin since the mats were so close to the skin. This trimmer feels a lot safer and I've been able to get mats easily in one stroke. I'm actually super impressed and would recommend this product for matted fur. Mine came charged already so I was able to use it right away. It does come with the cable for charging.
