Great lock as locks

Well done. Plastic coating for scratch protection. It is attached to the crossbar on both sides, requiring the thief to cut open the device twice to remove it. chilling. There is a cute little cover on the lock/keyhole to keep scuffs away. I turned the silver collar on the U-piece. It is held in place by a rubber O-ring and unscrews fairly easily if the set screw is loose. The instructions don't really tell you anything, but if you have to slide the entire assembly _backwards_ to get it out of the bracket, nobody can steal the lock itself unless they destroy the bracket (or get the key to unlock the d-pad to get). . out). This is just a little extra deterrent in case your bike is "stored" in a secure location (e.g. a garage or a dorm where guests are staying). Also, the installation has been flawless so far. Hey, read the instructions and tighten the little screw until his eyes pop out of his head. As you tighten the bolt, it pulls the belt and rubber sections tighter (and actually holds them in place). It should be tight until the screw comes out (and it keeps turning). The day I hung the padlock, I ran twenty miles on Dayton Beach. There are no problems with sand getting into the lock itself or the fasteners coming loose. I use this on a Motobecane BORIS X7 and also use a tether to hold the wheels more securely. You can install this lock in the chainstay and spokes of the fat bike, but not immediately "around" the tire and frame (at least for me, yours may be different). That's why I have a cable for this U-lock. I understand that the lack of a lock is the ideal solution. Anything can be defeated given enough time. I'm comfortable leaving my bike in front of a coffee shop, diner or shop if they lock it up. I don't think I'll be locking myself all day or night and expect to be 100 percent secure with any lock. The light didn't come on until I wiped them clean.
