Review on 🏎️ High Performance K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for 2007-2011 Mini Cooper & Mini Cooper Clubman: Guaranteed Power Boost for 1.6L L4 Engine - 69-2005TTK by James Trapkin

Arrived on time. Very easy to install, about 30 minutes, with instructions specific to my car. I have a 2007 Mini R56 base model. This item uses the existing lower half of the Original Equipment airbox and leaves the air intake system from the front grille in place. back to the air box. This adds a nice "growl" at higher rpm, not much of a difference at lower rpm. The Bad: Since the top of the original airbox is connected to the top of the engine for stability, if you switch to a K&N you'll lose that connection. This causes the airbox system to shake, sometimes there is a slight thump at idle, and then I noticed that due to this shaking it started rubbing against some of the parts it was leaning on. I had to put a styrofoam seal between these areas and will check this in the near future. The top of the K&N airbox you receive is metal and has some weight, so I believe this is happening. After installing the seal, the "growl" sound seems to change. Difficult to explain, but noticeable. After installing the K&N system I also noticed that my RPM shift points seemed to be lower when driving in "Sport" mode. The car doesn't hold revs when ramping up and shifts gears earlier than the original box which seems to rob you of speed. I will continue to monitor shift changes, monitor gas mileage and later decide whether to keep it on the car. or I go back to the original airbox with K&N filter insert.
