Following the instructions I installed it in an hour. The sound is great and shows a slight increase in performance. I have a 2011 non-turbo mini hardtop. Of course, the price of buying such a K&N set is high. I knew what I was buying, I was buying it more for show than function so the price was right for me.

The K&N Typhoon Performance Intake Kit is easy to install, looks good, sounds great, improves economy, increases performance and eliminates the high cost of the Replacing Paper Filters Costing about $40 each, the Mini Cooper most importantly reduces the tremendous amount of waste that paper filters add to our landfills each year. That's not a problem for every Mini Cooper owner. Don't mess with other brands, use K&N.

My MINI now has a faint harsh hum at 3,000rpm. I couldn't help but laugh when I first heard this. Installation took less than 2 hours and would have been faster with the right tools. Brackets are the only difficult things to take out and put back in; several times i had to use the house key to tighten and loosen the screws because of the tight fit. I'm surprised how much 4 hp can do; While it's definitely not sinking into your spots quickly, it's faster than I expected.

So I installed this about a month ago. Installation wasn't that bad, took about an hour or so, maybe less. Arrived on time. Very easy to install, about 30 minutes, with instructions specific to my car. I have a 2007 Mini R56 base model. This item uses the existing lower half of the Original Equipment airbox and leaves the air intake system from the front grille in place. back to the air box.
