I just received these 2.1 computer speakers for my friend's 16 year old boy. I tested them on my computer to see how they sound. First, the cables are too short, put the subwoofer on the floor and the satellite speakers next to the monitor, so everything should be on the table or, if you have a tower on the floor, on the floor. All the control knobs/knobs are on the subwoofer so it is difficult to change them even if you put the subwoofer on the floor. I used to have a 400w 2.1 computer speaker set that had the control functions on one of the satellite speakers so they could be easily swapped out while the sub was on the floor. There's also no 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can't plug in headphones for privacy reasons. They sound good and are a bit loud. The subwoofer doesn't produce harsh bass, but that's okay. The satellite speakers work in stereo and sound decent. They can sound a bit tinny at full volume due to the lack of bass or treble controls. I didn't use a software or hardware amp because I would blow them out very quickly. I've tried a few different types of music to see how they sound and they've all been fine, as long as you can adjust the bass and treble on your PC, don't crank it up to max and don't use any type of amp with you. You have a main cable with a USB connector and a 3.5mm jack to connect to your computer for power and sound. If you're looking for decent sounding 2.1 computer speakers that are only intended for basic audio, this is very good. If you're looking for explosive sound and want to feel the punch then this isn't the place for you as it will set you back $100+. I don't care about light or bluetooth because I wanted to know about sound quality and clarity so I didn't even try them. I'll update this over time as he uses them for games and other things to see how things work and how they work.
