Helped quiet a noisy hard drive!

I have a new X300 Toshiba 8GB hard drive. I slipped it into a plastic Orico case without tools and found it was unnecessarily loud. It really rattled in that plastic. But it's for the Raspberry Pi NAS, which I'll put in a closet or somewhere else to not hear. Also, I didn't feel particularly confident that this drive hadn't crashed at some point in Orico's plain plastic case, which does the job but has no real drop protection, not even internal rubber mounts. . I ordered this Novus, it's the only 3.5 rubber case I could find. Somewhere. I am really impressed, how it reduces noise, which is a bonus. that I received. I didn't shoot when I ordered the case. I suspect the fact that it's bolted to a metal body surrounded by a thick silicone rubber sleeve is the reason it dampens noise-causing vibrations. I also like that it has USB-C to USB-C for newer hardware and another USB cable for other setups like my Raspberry Pi. Peak transfer speeds with a good quality USB-C cable on a Macbook were excellent. (See lower right quadrant of Black Magic Disk speed test). I will order another one of these beautiful rubber monsters. Peak transfer speeds with a good quality USB-C cable on a Macbook were excellent.
