Welds DO NOT hold: Spray paint

Took less than 1 minute each use 5 times and the weld broke and fell to the ground. According to my calculations, the project I'm working on will require me to buy about 100 of these devices. This paint mixer was used with a battery powered Ryobi drill/driver so it wouldn't run at supersonic speeds. If the rod was shorter, it would last longer. The length of the rod concentrates any imbalance at its weakest point, ie the weld. I could buy 100 of these but it wouldn't matter because with this design they all break.
