This is a good starter kit that is ruined by how many things are broken out of the box. Yellow LEDs range from dull orange to dull yellow. For what it's worth, the other LEDs in my kit seem fine. Yellow is easily the most controversial and poorly represented color. Please note that the color in my photo is different than what you see in real life. One of the Dupont cable connectors had broken out of the box. There is a very high probability that if a jumper is used, it will remain embedded in the breadboard. That is, if the jumper is actually large enough to allow decent contact. Many seem too thin to fit snugly. I've only had this kit for a few days and already have a few broken jumpers. On the positive side. The power connector is very convenient. It gives you a direct 3V, 5V and USB connection. The breadboard does what a breadboard is supposed to do. You get a variety of components, so you can quickly get started with a variety of products. One thing that would be nice to have in this kit is a 555 timer (since it's a staple of the projects) and something to hold the jumpers. However, due to quality control issues, I have a hard time recommending this kit. You already pay a premium when you buy these items together. At least they shouldn't break with normal use, especially on the first day.
