This appliance heats 24 ounces of cold water to a boil in about 5 minutes. As instructed in the instructions, never connect it to the mains until it is immersed in water at least halfway down the straight part of the coils. Also, leave the coil submerged for about 30 seconds after unplugging. If you don't you run the risk of burning out this coil which has no internal switch. I noticed that the black plastic case behind the coil isn't completely sealed, so I used some epoxy to make sure water didn't get in. Comes with a 220v adapter for use in countries of that voltage and a nice carry case to keep it together. All in all a great portable way to boil water for your needs.
