Review on 🍳 Premium Lodge Combo Cooker Cast Iron, 10.25" Black: Superior Durability and Versatility by Steve Beaumont

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality lodge but beware of price fluctuations.

Skippable Background We have started replacing the Calphalon / Cephalon / Tefal / and stainless steel pots and pans that we have accumulated over the years. The reason is that the non-stick coating will peel off over time and who knows what that will actually do to your body over time. The cast iron skillet we got from my mom who was 35 when we got it was an eye opener as nothing stuck in it and it was great to cook with. So we decided to go beyond the pan and create a complete "platform" of cast iron pots and pans. At first we tried different brands and thought "cast iron is cast iron". NOT CORRECT. Surface smoothness, seasoning quality, lid fit, uniform thickness, etc. are critical to making something GREAT and not a terrible flop. For us, Lodge was a winner in all cast iron cookware categories. At the moment we have a full collection of kitchen items and 90% are Lodge and we love it. Cast iron trick? Read the instructions for proper cooking and cleaning hot. Too many people spoil spices without knowing how to care for them. If the spice turns out to be inferior or you make a mistake: The spice can be easily replaced in any oven and with a small amount of vegetable oil. Here's what's good: the ideal thickness of the iron; DEEP, EVEN AND TIMELESS SEASONING: We've never reseasoned any cookware after years of heavy use - smooth cast iron finish. The combination of spices and a smooth surface leaves you practically unburned, whether it's pancakes or eggs wrapped on the sunny side. Works perfectly! - the lid of this item fits perfectly - both the handle on the pot and the lid: it's heavy - unlike a non-stick coating, it can withstand very, very high heat. Ideal for overuse - keeps warm for a very long time so dinner doesn't go cold in seconds. Disadvantages (we criticize the first one): - Difficult to handle, therefore not suitable for the elderly. You can do some serious wrist training with them - Revain seems to have a crazy price range for that. Bought mine for thirty bucks and today as I write this review it's 88. Crazy. Watch your purchase go up and down and that's just not cool.
